IRC CHAT ROOM RULES AND GUIDELINES BASIC GUIDELINES 1: Members must be at least 13 years old to join the Off Scale IRC server and its channels. 2: The operator of the channel is defined by a few symbols @ = a standard operator, & = a super operator and ~ = the channel registrant. Any member who is displaying these symbols is dedicated an official operator or OP. These members are to be given respect by everyone participating in the Off Scale chat rooms. 3: Any member that is appointed OP on #OffScale should never be questioned or argued with publicly over disciplinary issues. If you have any issues, you may resolve it in a private message or a PM. If you feel that the issue was not resolved with the operator in question feel free to discuss the issue with Anarch or Mud either by PM. If your problem is needs to be addressed by someone higher than Anarch (meaning your issue concerns him or something about the forums), feel free to contact an Off Scale forum administrator. Operators are there to do their best to protect the other members, not get harassed for doing their job. 4: Members are to be treated with respect at all times. We at Off Scale are host to many different people of many different backgrounds. It is imperative that we remain open minded and non-confrontational. If you are subjected to any act that you feel is harassment of any kind, please seek the aid of a designated channel operator. 5: Members are allowed to create their own channels for their own purposes. The member that opens the channel is designated an operator. That person should be treated like the operators in the main channel. This also means that the operators of independent channels are solely responsible to label and enforce the IRC server's rules and their guidelines on their own channels. Off Scale is not liable for anything that goes on in user-created chat rooms. 6: Discussion of illegal substances and activities are not permitted. This list includes, but not limited to, illegal drugs, underage drinking, stolen property, murder, assault, prostitution, and pirated software. A: Allusions/jokes about illegal activies are permissible, but should not be overused. 7: The administrators and moderators at Off Scale retain the right to change, add, update or modify these guidelines as they see fit. RULES FOR #OffScale #OffScale is rated PG-13 1: All forms of macro/micro play are permitted in #OffScale as long as there is no violence or sex. This includes, soft vore, paw play, shrinking and growth. 2: Respect your fellow members, if asked to stop please refrain from the activity in question. If you feel this is unfair you may address an OP. Golden rule, treat others as you would wish to be treated. 3: Any discussion that seems to be offensive to a group of people should be moved to a private channel or PM should it start to upset #Offscale members. However we at Offscale will not limit discourse, this is JUST an IRC we want you to feel free to express yourself. 4: All races, genders, creeds, species, sexual orientation and preferences must be treated with utmost respect. Racist, sexist, homophobic, anti-furry, anti-human, etc. statements are not tolerated. 5: There is to be no killing or other violent acts. If it causes bleeding or death, it is violent. Make sure the other party in your interaction is okay with it. A: Vore/mawplay is permitted. However, there can be no digestion or any pain caused to the prey item. B: Stomping/footplay is permitted. However, the one underfoot must not undergo any forms of pain. C: There are no size limitations. 6: There is to be no sex or excessively sexual acts. 7: Extreme fetish discussion (scatological, etc.) must be moved to another room or PM. 8: Swearing is allowed. However, excessive swearing is not tolerated. 9: RP is to be keep to an informal standard (no highly involved RPs). RPing that busies up the channel will be taken to a separate channel or PM. 10: Purposeful harassment or annoyance of members is not tolerated and could qualify for automatic referral to the IRC Administrator. 11: If you are having a bad day or are bored, do not spam the chat with repeated angst or boredom-ridden posts. Kicks will be dispensed at the discretion of the OP or Admin present after only ONE warning. 10: Personal problems are NOT public material. Please leave those for the PMs or other rooms. 10A: Try to keep personal discussions that could be seen as "argumentative, drama-ish and/or emo-ish" taken to PM's or other rooms. This will keep misunderstandings to a minimum. 3/12/08 12: The moderators and IRC Administrator at Off Scale retain the right to change, add, update or modify these guidelines as they see fit with approval of Administrator. RECOMMENDED ORDER OF DISCIPLINARY ACTION Subject to change in special circumstances, or at IRC Admin's discretion First/Second offense: Warning Third offense: Kick Fourth offense: Kick/Ban for specified length of time and referral to OP staff Fifth offense (if not permanently banned): Permanent Ban Please keep in mind that channels other than #offscale will have different rules/guidelines as seen fit by their ChanOps, ChanSops, and ChanOwners.
